Sono stati Boyhood e Grand Budapest Hotel a trionfare ai Golden Globes, i premi della stampa estera iscritti all’associazione Hfpa (Hollywood Foreign Press Association), rispettivamente come miglior film drammatico e miglior commedia/musical. Boyhood ha inoltre ricevuto i premi per miglior regista (Richard Linklater) e miglior attrice non protagonista (Patricia Arquette). Birdman di Alejandro Inarritu si aggiudica i premi nelle categorie di miglior attore in una commedia/musical (Michael Keaton) e miglior sceneggiatura.
